Bedtime Stories or A Kingdom Epic?

Matthew 13: 1 – 23 and others.

“Parable of the sower.”

The sower goes out of the house to sow the words of the kingdom – the reign – the reign of God in the heart of man.

Where do we fit in with the groups that surround Jesus?

Are we the ones who just hear a “bedtime story?” Or are we those who hear a “Kingdom Epic?” Do we have “ears to hear” (see Mt. 13:9 & 13:15)?

We might ask ourselves, “If I follow the kingdom teaching, I will have to give up where I am now.”

Has our heart become dull, ears scarcely hear, and have we closed our eyes so we will not see and not hear and then understand? (See verse 15)

In Matthew 13 we find the parable of parables according to Jesus in Mark 4:13. What’s so unique about this particular parable? Why must we understand it before we can understand any of the others?

A REVELATION! The MYSTERY of the Kingdom is======The Kingdom is here! See Mark 1:15.

I can just imagine Jesus saying the words that are written in Mark 1:15 in this way. “The writings of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms have finally come to pass. The Reign of God Most High is standing right here before you. The Reign of God is speaking to you now. Look at Him. So, repent of your transgressions and put your trust in this Truth which is the person who speaks with you now.”

And signs and wonders accompany the proclamation of the message of the kingdom. See Mt. 10:7 & 8

And the message is for everyone not just a few or just for the people of the 1st Century. See Acts 2:33, 39.

Remember, the first word Jesus spoke in this parable was. . . . . . . LISTEN!  Psalm 85:8.

He’s still trying to get our attention.
