Yokes – part 8, 8/31/08 – The Yoke that Finishes us Off.

From Isaiah 58 and Matthew 11 - 12

As a review, in the past 7 weeks we have heard messages about YOKES that weigh us down:

            1st.        Yoke of Judging others

2nd.      Yoke of Sitting as judge – for who deserves mercy

3rd.      Yoke of Unbelief, even in the fact of miraculous signs

4th.       Yoke of Words being your betrayer

5th.       Yoke of Fain trust in God

            6th.       Yoke of false regeneration

            7th.       Yoke rejecting intimacy

Now – we come to the 8th Yoke – The Yoke that will be our undoing.

We go back to the beginning for this final Yoke that we must substitute for all the ones we have put off: His Yoke!

Matthew 11: 28 – 30.

V 28                First we come to Him, which takes absolute trust.

V 29a              Next we Release to Him, which takes Full surrender.

V 29                Finally, we align with Him, which takes passion and discipline.

The Lord reminded me as Pasture Scott was speaking of a particular text that this final Yoke, His Yoke, is all about. Look in Romans 13: 14 which says: “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.”

In Matthew 12:43 – 45 Jesus tells us what happens when there is no substitute for the cleaning of a person from the enemy. When we put off the 7 Yokes that Pasture Scott preached on, there is yet one more thing that is needed – that is to put on the Lord Jesus Christ. When we put Him on, our house will no longer be unoccupied but filled with the Lord Jesus and there will never be room for the enemy to occupy.
