Baptism in the Holy Spirit In Acts 4:23 – 31 Jesus told them to wait to be “clothed” with power from on high. (See Acts 1:4 – 5, 8) Jesus wants all of us to have this clothing so He can have free reign to do His work through us to empower us for ministry. (In Judges 6:34 it says that “..the Spirit of the Lord ‘clothed’ Gideon;” It’s this kind of clothing that will empower us to do His work too.) The Apostles Creed has something to say to us about the work of the Holy Spirit: I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead.He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.Amen. * universal Other work of the Holy Spirit: Acts 2:41 – 42 Evangelism Acts 3:1 – 10 Attesting Miracles (miracles that attested to the power and divinity of Jesus) Acts 5:12 – 16 Once again are people being saved and the sick healed.
